Shot List

Front cover:

I have only featured on image on this page, in order to follow conventions and to keep the design simple. On my front cover I have used a long shot of a male surfer. I have chosen to take this image at a high angle to allow the audience to in control. By doing this it gives the consumer a certain amount of power, making them feel inclined to buy mu product. However, I have not dominated the shot by this connotation as I haven't photographed the protagonist from directly above, allowing the audience to interpret the image on a more personal level. My front cover uses an action shot, making my product seem exiting and daring.

Double Page Spread:

Here, I have similarly used one image that dominates the page. My researched showed that regional double page spreads feature 1-3 photographs, generally relating to the same topic. I have chose to use on image that covers both pages of the product. The image I have chosen is a long, action shot. It is busy and compact with colour so not other image was needed. I photographed this rowing event using a range of different long shot techniques, featuring the sport and landscape setting on my camera as well as changing the IOS and aperture readings. By doing this it had allowed the shot to be textured and full. The long shot helps to establish the content of the image.

Contents Page:

I have again, followed the form set by my front cover and double page spread designs. I have used a long shot in order to follow conventions and create a recognisable aspect for existing regional audiences (secondary market). As this page contains a lot of text it is important not to overpower the product or create something very busy. Therefore, I chose a long landscape shot to balance the two important features of this page.
