Front Cover:
From the research I have carried out, it was evident that there are three main shot types used on pop magazine front covers. These are; medium shots, medium- close ups and close up shots. They are typically used so that emotion can be shown through the images. I would like to use a medium shot or medium close up of  my artist on the front cover of my magazine. Black and white is a popular filter on Billboads magazine front covers, this enables you to use a wide range of colour when choosing your colour pallet. However, it will depend on my photo shoot as to whether I use it or not. I will have a light background, most likely a white or grey, making the image look bright and clean. I will use a landscape image.

Double Page Spread:
From further research I found that medium- long shots are used on double page spreads. The artist is usually to either side of the page so that the fold in the page does not effect the image. The same artist is frequently used on the front cover as the double page spread. For my double page spread  I would like to feature my main artist holding a guitar as a prop. I will use the same artist on the front cover as my double page spread as it is a common convention of the genre I have chosen. I will use a medium shot of my artist on my double page spread. The colour of my text will be determined by the image I choose, as well as having the colour palette of my front cover in mind. I will use a portrait image.

Contents page:

For my Contents page I intent to use a variety of shot types, including some action. Above is an example, I would like to also use props in some of my images that I take for my contents page, as it keeps the music theme.
