Magazine Title- final masthead

The reason I chose this design for my masthead was because it is simple, yet effective. It has a modern connotation as it looks professional and clean. Thinking of future productions, my masthead design could be renovated in terms of colour to fit with the varying issues of my magazine. I chose 'Listen Up', as it proved extremely popular in my target audience survey. It could become easily recognisable in the future as well as being linked to music, showing its from the pop genre. In my  research I found that most masthead were in block capitals , I chose to challenge this convention. The reason behind this was because I feel that block capitals hold an aggressive, threatening connotation typically associated with rock magazines. As I was designing a magazine from the pop genre I wanted my audience to feel they could read my magazine for positive reasons rather than feeling intimidated by my construction choices.
